Eligibility Criteria
Students enrolled in a degree program at any recognized academic institution and interested in gaining research experience at IIT Bhubaneswar can apply for this internship. The program is open to students from the following disciplines:
Basic Sciences
Earth, Ocean & Climate Sciences
Electrical and Computer Sciences
Infrastructure
Mechanical Sciences
Humanities, Social Sciences, and Management
Minerals, Metallurgical, and Materials Engineering
Internship Duration
The internship will be conducted during the summer vacation of IIT Bhubaneswar, with a duration of 3 to 8 weeks. The tentative schedule is as follows:
The selection will be carried out in the following manner:
Preliminary Screening – Applications will be reviewed by the respective departments.
Selection Committee Review – Shortlisted candidates will be selected based on academic performance and relevant skills.
Final Selection Notification – Selected candidates will receive an email confirmation and their names will be published on the IIT Bhubaneswar website.
Note: No separate communication will be sent to non-selected candidates.
Accommodation and Food
Selected students may be provided hostel accommodation, subject to availability, on a paid basis.
Applications for accommodation should be submitted through the supervisor to the Warden Council.
Interns must bear the cost of food and other amenities.
Stipend/Fellowship
Internships at IIT Bhubaneswar may or may not be paid.
Supervisors may provide fellowships to interns based on the availability of funds from their research projects.
Internship Rules and Regulations
Interns must follow IIT Bhubaneswar’s rules and regulations throughout their stay.
Temporary identity cards may be issued to interns.
Access to the library, internet, and other facilities will be provided.
At the end of the internship, interns must submit a detailed report of their work.
Based on the completion of the assigned tasks, a Training Completion Certificate will be issued by the supervisor.
