Deloitte is seeking a Data Science Intern to join its Digital Excellence Centre in Bengaluru. In this role, you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge AI solutions, working with large datasets to extract meaningful insights, develop machine learning models, and optimize algorithms for business impact. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in AI, machine learning, deep learning, and data-driven problem-solving while working with an expert team of data scientists, engineers, and business leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Data Exploration & Preprocessing:
- Process and clean structured and unstructured data from various sources.
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover trends, correlations, and anomalies.
- Handle missing values, outliers, and feature engineering for better model performance.
- Machine Learning & AI Model Development:
- Develop, train, and optimize machine learning (ML) and deep learning models for real-world applications.
- Work on natural language processing (NLP) techniques for text analysis.
- Implement and fine-tune Generative AI models (preferred).
- Design and run A/B tests to validate model effectiveness.
- Model Deployment & Performance Optimization:
- Automate training pipelines for scalable machine learning solutions.
- Monitor and evaluate model performance, refining algorithms as needed.
- Identify areas for improving computational efficiency and scalability.
- Collaboration & Data-Driven Insights:
- Work with stakeholders to understand business challenges and apply AI/ML to drive impact.
- Present data-driven insights and model results in a clear and actionable format.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data collection and validation processes.
Required Skills:
- Data Science & Machine Learning:
- Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras).
- Knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques.
- Understanding of A/B testing methodologies for model evaluation.
- Programming & Data Engineering:
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL for data analysis and modeling.
- Experience working with data manipulation libraries (Pandas, NumPy).
- Familiarity with big data processing and distributed computing frameworks (Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
- Ability to work with complex datasets and derive actionable insights.
- Strong understanding of statistics, probability, and mathematical modeling.
- Ability to break down business problems into data-driven solutions.
- Soft Skills & Collaboration:
- Ability to communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with a problem-solving mindset and analytical thinking.
- Experience in remote collaboration and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field
