Overview:
Join Microsoft as a Silicon Engineering Intern and work on designing, developing, and evaluating integrated circuits and digital electronic systems. You will contribute to defining design architectures, performance parameters, and pre-silicon verification test cases. This internship offers hands-on experience with industry-leading hardware solutions, verification methods, and testing frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to hardware development and improve system performance
  • Use performance instrumentation and present results to teams and architects
  • Develop and implement pre-silicon verification test cases and automation
  • Assist in logic design, verification, circuit design, and physical design
  • Write tests for formal pre-silicon verification using simulation and emulation tools
  • Support design for testability, synthesis, and timing analysis

Education Requirement: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science Engineering

Technical Skills Required: Microelectronics, VLSI, Digital Logic Design, Object-Oriented Programming, Data Structures, Embedded Systems, Firmware, Verification Principles, Testbenches, UVM, C, C++, Scripting Languages, Digital Timing Analysis, Synthesis, Place-and-Route, Circuit Design, Solid-State Devices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of VLSI, embedded systems, and firmware development
  • Knowledge of verification principles, testbenches, and UVM methodology
  • Experience with C/C++, scripting languages, and digital circuit design
  • Familiarity with synthesis, place-and-route, and solid-state devices
