Job Description:
As a Software Engineer at Stripe, you will own and deliver projects that have a direct impact on millions of users. We believe in end-to-end ownership, where you will take responsibility for projects from conception to deployment. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, launch prototypes and betas, and contribute to open-source projects.
Responsibilities:
- Work on cross-functional projects, collaborating with other engineers across various teams.
- Provide constructive feedback on code reviews and technical designs.
- Ensure the systems your team operates are scalable, reliable, and continue running smoothly.
- Develop project management and technical leadership skills to take ownership of projects from start to finish.
- Learn unfamiliar systems and technologies through independent research and guidance from mentors and experts.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field (graduating by Summer 2025) or equivalent work experience.
- Experience and familiarity with programming through coursework, side projects, or internships.
- Knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, Go).
- Experience working collaboratively on coding projects in a university or professional setting.
- Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar systems and technologies through independent research and mentorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specialized knowledge in areas like frontend development and how services handle HTTP requests.
- Experience with code review practices and updating production systems safely.
- Familiarity with navigating and managing large codebases.
