Overview
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Systems Engineering Intern to help build and evolve our vehicle telematics and energy-stack products across hardware, firmware, and software domains. You will work alongside senior engineers and OEM partners, supporting cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, firmware) to ensure seamless system integration and to move products from requirements through validation. You'll start by supporting core systems-engineering activities and grow into greater ownership as you ramp up.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and management of System Requirements (SOR/SRS), functional requirements, and system specifications.
- Assist in creating system architecture and defining system interfaces across hardware, firmware, and software.
- Contribute to DFMEA, risk analysis, and design-improvement activities.
- Help maintain requirements traceability and change management.
- Support the preparation of verification and validation plans; execute functional, performance, and reliability tests under guidance.
- Help identify system-level test cases and draft procedures for major components (powertrain, battery system, charger system, telematics).
- Interpret test data using basic numerical analysis to support objective decisions.
- Participate in design reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation (schematics, integration workflows, validation reports).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support timely product development and compliance with quality processes.
Requirements
- 0–1 year of experience (including internships and academic/capstone projects) in Systems Engineering, embedded systems, or electrical/firmware development.
- Bachelor's degree (or final-year student) in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Exposure to requirements documentation (SOR/SRS), DFMEA, or requirements management — through coursework, projects, or internships.
- Foundational understanding of system integration, verification, and validation.
- Basic understanding of power electronics, control systems, and hardware/circuit debugging.
- At least one hands-on project spanning multiple domains (mechanical + electrical + hardware/firmware).
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with eagerness to learn.
Good to Have
- MATLAB / Simulink or any other modelling or requirement-flow-down tool.
- Formula Student / BAJA or similar hands-on engineering-team background.
- Any exposure to integrated systems and a holistic, cross-platform view.
Mindset
A non-compromising attitude toward product excellence, balanced with a flexible, collaborative approach and a genuine willingness to break assumptions, learn fast, and build.
