Uber is hiring Software Engineer I Freshers

As Uber transitions from an on-premises data center model to a multi-cloud, multi-region infrastructure, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing a unified storage layer. This layer will allow seamless data production and access across cloud vendors and regions, offering significant cost efficiency by leveraging optimal storage options in the cloud.

Responsibilities:

• Develop frameworks and systems to help Uber migrate from on-premises data centers to cloud-based infrastructure.
• Design and implement a unified storage layer capable of handling data from bytes to petabytes across multiple cloud providers and regions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create systems and standards that will be open-sourced and adopted as industry benchmarks.
• Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to support billions of daily RPCs (Remote Procedure Calls).
• Contribute to the design and development of highly scalable, distributed backend systems.

Basic Qualifications:

• BE/BS in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of at least one programming language.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in C or C++.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of large-scale data storage solutions.
• Familiarity with multi-cloud and multi-region architectures.
