Deloitte is seeking a Data Science Intern to join its Digital Excellence Centre in Bengaluru. In this role, you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge AI solutions, working with large datasets to extract meaningful insights, develop machine learning models, and optimize algorithms for business impact. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in AI, machine learning, deep learning, and data-driven problem-solving while working with an expert team of data scientists, engineers, and business leaders.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Exploration & Preprocessing:
    • Process and clean structured and unstructured data from various sources.
    • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover trends, correlations, and anomalies.
    • Handle missing values, outliers, and feature engineering for better model performance.
  • Machine Learning & AI Model Development:
    • Develop, train, and optimize machine learning (ML) and deep learning models for real-world applications.
    • Work on natural language processing (NLP) techniques for text analysis.
    • Implement and fine-tune Generative AI models (preferred).
    • Design and run A/B tests to validate model effectiveness.
  • Model Deployment & Performance Optimization:
    • Automate training pipelines for scalable machine learning solutions.
    • Monitor and evaluate model performance, refining algorithms as needed.
    • Identify areas for improving computational efficiency and scalability.
  • Collaboration & Data-Driven Insights:
    • Work with stakeholders to understand business challenges and apply AI/ML to drive impact.
    • Present data-driven insights and model results in a clear and actionable format.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data collection and validation processes.

Required Skills:

  • Data Science & Machine Learning:
    • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning.
    • Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras).
    • Knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques.
    • Understanding of A/B testing methodologies for model evaluation.
  • Programming & Data Engineering:
    • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL for data analysis and modeling.
    • Experience working with data manipulation libraries (Pandas, NumPy).
    • Familiarity with big data processing and distributed computing frameworks (Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
    • Ability to work with complex datasets and derive actionable insights.
    • Strong understanding of statistics, probability, and mathematical modeling.
    • Ability to break down business problems into data-driven solutions.
  • Soft Skills & Collaboration:
    • Ability to communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
